Abstract

|
Thyrotoxicosis may be caused by elevated serum triiodothyronine(T3) in the presence of normal serum thyroxine(T4) concentration.
We identified 4 patients who had clinical symptoms of hyperthyroidism, but in whom the radioactive iodide uptake, T3 resin uptake and serum thyroxine were normal, whereas serum T3 levels were significantly elevated and serum TSH levels were reduced.
